Support BOBBY

BOBBY is a directory of businesses at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by African Americans. A dollar a month keeps it running.

What it pays for

Checking that listings are real and current: documents read by a person, investigators who visit, and the work of going back to a business months later to look again. That is slow and it costs money, and it is the only reason a BOBBY listing means anything.

What you get

• ✓No requests to chip in — you already have.
• ✓Save listings so you can find them again.
• ✓Email when a business joins the directory in your city.
• ✓Your name on the supporters page, if you want it there.
• ✓BOBBY Discounts at taking-part businesses.

The directory itself is not one of them, and never will be. Browsing, searching, every listing page and writing a review are free to everyone, whether you give a dollar or not.

What it does not buy

• Not a verification. No amount of money moves a listing to Verified or Certified. That takes a vetting case, documents and an investigator’s report, and it is the same for everyone.
• Not a place in the results. Paying does not move a business up a search page or onto the home page.
• Not a review or a rating. Ratings come from real reviews or they do not exist.

Billing is handled by Stripe — BOBBY never sees your card. You can change or cancel any time from your account, and a cancellation runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
